Celtic Invasion of Ireland 2012

Thanks for your interest in the Celtic Invasion.  I have another trip all lined up for you. Remember, this is not your typical “tour”. It’s a vacation for like-minded people who want to enjoy history and Celtic music.

Our Next Celtic Invasion Vacation takes place
June 2-9, 2012 in Galway, Ireland


We're stay seven nights just 11 miles outside of Galway, Ireland, bordering Connemara in a gorgeous estate with a castle.

  1. We will explore Galway town and the craic of the Irish pubs 
  2. We'll take a boat trip to the Aran Islands
  3. We will immerse ourselves in the Galway and Connemara countryside
  4. By request, I'm gonna try and work in a to New Grange
  5. When we aren't out at the pubs, most evenings will feature music by yours truly.



Day One: Saturday, June 2
- Arrive in Dublin. Leave airport around 10am.
- Drive to New Grange.
- Lunch: New Grange Cafe
- Drive to Ross Castle
- Dinner in Galway
- Music with Marc Gunn

Day Two: Sunday, June 3
- Explore Galway, City Center Walkabout
- Spanish Arch and Galway City Museum
- Dinner back at the cottage followed by a relaxing evening
- Music with Marc Gunn

Day three: Monday, June 4
- Hike around the Aran Islands
- Lunch on the Island
- Evening at a Irish pub with traditional music

Day Four: Tuesday, June 5
- Drive to Kylemore Abby and Connemara
- Lunch at Mitchel Cafe at the Abbey
- Music at the cottage with Marc Gunn

Day Five: Wednesday, June 6
- Cliffs of Mohr Cruise
- Shop Galway
- Evening at an Irish pub with traditional music in Galway

Day Six: Thursday, June 7
- Connemara National Park
- Dinner back at the cottage
- Music with Marc Gunn

Day Seven: Friday, June 8
- Open of Galway and the surrounding countryside
- Evening at an Irish pub with traditional Irish music

Day Eight: Saturday, June 9
- Drive back to Dublin
- Fly home.

Mail a $400 Nonrefundable Downpayment to the address on the form. Secure a vacation rate if you mail by the deadlines below. (refundable only if the trip is canceled)

To join the trip, there are three deadlines that will decide how much this trip will cost you:

Deposit due by January 31st -- $1,876 + deposit = $2,276
Final payment due by March 1st

Regular Price
Deposit due by March 1st -- $1,976 + deposit = $2,376

Late Price
After March 1st -- $2,176 + deposit = $2,576

IF I can find you a room.

Your final balance is due one month after the end of the end

Single Room Supplemental: $300
There is an extra fee if you want a room to yourself. If you are willing to share, I can *try* to help you find another single on the trip.

  • Sleeping accommodations for a shared bedroom (supplemental for single)


  • You are responsible for your own air travel
  • Fly into Dublin and arrive before 9am
  • The best time to purchase tickets is within 30-90 days of traveling
  • If you’re using Frequent Flyer Miles, give yourself at least six months to book your tickets



We are not taking buses for this trip. Instead, we're gonna take cars. Each car will hold five people. This
allows for great flexibility and comfort.

If you are willing to drive one of the cars, you can save $300.
